My family tells me that I should get laser vision surgery; my children even offered to chip in and help me pay for it. I have a very odd prescription. I am far-sighted in my right eye and near-sighted in my left eye. This causes me to have very many problems when shopping for new glasses and with vision in general. I do not know if I would be willing to get laser vision surgery. The first reason that might prevent me from laser vision surgery is solely the fact that it is very expensive. I am a single mother with two children and I can not afford to pay a few thousand dollars to have my vision permanently fixed; I have bills to pay after all. Beyond that reason, there is also the fact that I am simply very scared of going under the laser and getting laser eye surgery. Somehow, the idea of micro-lasers being beamed into my eyes with the goal of repairing naturally poor vision just does not appeal to me. I probably will end up getting the laser eye surgery after all. It will probably just take a few months for my friends and family to convince me of the idea. Until then, I will just have to suffer through the pain of dealing with my horrible eye ware prescription.
