Well, my husband and the boys finally finished that garage.  They are really proud of themselves.  They did not have to ask for help from the girls (who they secretly thought would get in their way and slow them down).  I think they did everything pretty nicely, even though some of the projects they took on were coerced, subtly or course, by little suggestions from the girls.  Like painting the garage beige instead of black.  They thought the black stripes along one wall added interest and draws the eye to the section where they put the hanging closet organizers.  Another suggestion they came up with was to simply paint the garage floor, instead of putting down a special flooring.  Initially, they thought it would be nice to have a sort of cork flooring laid down.    They decided against it in the interest of saving a lot of money, and they don’t have to worry about oil stains and chips on the painted floor.  I like the silver/gray paint they choose too.  The only thing we have to do is replace the garage door opener, figure out what we want to keep from our piles of tools, and file them away.
